A Year of Memorable Encounters at Château du Colombier

As I reflect on the journey taken over the course of this year, it is not only occupied rooms, breakfasts served, or tables set that come to mind. It is above all the faces, conversations, smiles, and those precious moments that give meaning to our profession.

You came to discover Saint-Malo and the Emerald Coast, celebrate an anniversary, share a few days with family, or simply enjoy a moment of tranquility in Brittany. Some crossed the doors of Château du Colombier for the first time; others had the pleasure of returning.

To each of you, I would like to extend my most sincere thanks today.

Meetings that bring the Château to life

A château-hotel is never just a building, however rich in history it may be. It becomes a living home thanks to those who cross its threshold.

Once again this year, we welcomed travelers from France, Europe, and much further afield. Couples seeking a romantic getaway, families happy to reunite, heritage enthusiasts, or lovers of Brittany: all brought a part of their story to the Château.

Some encounters lasted only an evening, others were extended over several days. All contributed to making this year a succession of unique moments.

Your testimonials often describe the atmosphere of Château du Colombier better than we ever could. You have mentioned the tranquility of the park, the charm of the residence, the quality of the reception, the beauty of the rooms, or the pleasure of staying in a character hotel near Saint-Malo.

We read each of your messages attentively. They are a true reward for everyone who works daily, often far from view, to make your stay enjoyable.

We are particularly touched by the guests who take the time to write to us after their departure, return to stay at the Château, or recommend our home to their loved ones. This loyalty is undoubtedly the greatest compliment.

A few voices more difficult to convince

It would not be entirely honest to claim that every stay has generated perfectly unanimous enthusiasm. A few comments have occasionally described an experience where we struggled to recognize the stay we had followed with care.

We have naturally read them with the seriousness our profession demands — and sometimes with a discreet astonishment. Yet, they are nonetheless appreciated: they remind us that perfection is a daily pursuit and that the imagination of some travelers fortunately knows no low season.

But what we choose to remember are above all the many guests happy to have stayed at the Château, having experienced beautiful emotions and leaving with the desire to return.

A house carried by an entire team

None of these moments would have been possible without the commitment of the Château du Colombier team.

I would like to warmly thank all those who bring our home to life: at reception, in the kitchen, in the dining room, in the rooms, as well as those responsible for the upkeep of the Château and its park. Each, through their work, availability, and attention, contributes to the experience of our guests.

A room prepared with care, a table set, advice given at the right moment, or a smile offered despite fatigue are all discreet gestures that shape the quality of a stay.

The Château du Colombier is a collective work. Without this team, nothing that our clients appreciated this year would have been possible.
